Full Size Fold-A-Bed - Compact Bed Frame Review by SmallWalletLiving

I can't say enough good things about this bed frame. It's relatively inexpensive for what you get (especially when you compare it to some popular composite-board options). I decided to stain it a dark walnut and the color took to the wood very well. Paired with a quilt with a modern color combination and pattern, this low to the ground frame definitely adds a unique style to my bedroom. And, I get the peace of mind of knowing that, if I have to move again anytime soon, I can just fold it up and shove it into the back of a car.

So: It's perfect. At least for me.

A few notes:
1. Be prepared to devote a few hours to putting this thing together. Power tools and friends make the process faster. There are a few maneuvers that really do require an extra pair of hands.
2. When I say that it takes stain well, I mean it sucks it up like a sponge. The instructions that came with the stain suggested that it be left on the wood for five minutes, I found that it was best applied then wiped off as quickly as possible for even results.
3. My final suggestion is to everyone who lives in a humid environment, and comes from the experience of owning another bed frame made from raw wood a few years ago: If you decide not to stain it, slap on a layer of poly at the very least. It will mildew over if you don't.

Love this bedframe. It is simple & takes up little visual space. Me (female) & my teenage niece put this together in less than an hour. A cordless drill is a PLUS! 2 sets of hands are a bonus too. Don't worry if at first the pins seem like they won't fit, just give them a tap w/ a hammer. I am SO happy I chose this frame & feel great that it is made in the USA! WOO-HOO

I bought this for a temporary living situation with a 10 inch foam mattress.

Overall, this item is totally awesome. It is solid, foldable, has good support, doesn't creak or shake, and can be stained to match your other furniture. It took a hot minute to put together, but once it was together, folding and unfolding is quite easy.

My only complaint, and it is a minor one (why can't I rate it at a 4.5?) is that when you pick up the frame to move it (like to get it closer to the wall), it is hard to move it back and forth. Moving side to side is no problem, but because of the way the legs fold, the one facing the way you are trying to move begins to fold further underneath the bed frame and you have to get underneath the frame to fold it back out. This is not easy, considering how low to the ground it is.

I won't be moving it much, so it was only a one time problem for me that once, but if you have to move it a lot, you will need a second person to assist if you need to scooch it forward without dragging the legs.
